It was The Royal Ball this weekend. Girl Scouts hosts a Daddy, Daughter dance every year around prom time. So today right after baseball we rushed home to get Eliza all ready for her big date. We painted her fingernails, roll brushed her hair, did her makeup and then zipped up her dress. "My dress has got really tight," she told me. "It even hurts to breath." I asked her, "do you want to switch and wear another one?" She paused for a second and then responded with this, "No, that's ok, I don't really need to breath." I was dying laughing inside. I was also so proud she is already sacrificing for fashion. I just answered back, "Yeah, who needs to breath anyways? " Then we just laughed it off together. I guess Steve had to keep unzipping her dress through out the night so she could take some deep breaths. So Dad showed up, very well prepared.(thank you Emily) He gave her a dozen red and pink roses along with a wrist corsage. She had a boutonniere for him. Back to the pick up, he rang the doorbell and she got to come down the stairs, all the while her dad was telling her how pretty she looked. She was so embarrassed, and was acting cute and silly.
