Finally I got a sec to create and decorate

So, I went out with Eliza this last Saturday so she could sell discount cards for the school fundraiser and I saw some people with Halloween decorations up. I judged them right away, and thought, "OK Nuts, it's a little early but whatever." Then on Tuesday I saw the date and realized October is 2-3 days away. So today I broke out all the decoration and had fun. I stung witch brooms from the ceiling and am now trying to figure out how to stuff a witch, to hang by them. I have been in full decorating mood, and having fun. It's kind of like therapy for me. The kids came home from school and helped me finish. I do have a hard time giving them control of my decor, but I have learned, they have such cute crazy ideas too. Not how I want things, and I constantly have to tell myself not to fix things, "Your missing the point Emily!!!" (That's what I say in my head.) They are always so proud when they get done decorating something. I also love it when they get home and the whole house is transformed into something new and exciting. They go around the house and wind up snow globes, pull on the spring spiders, which drives me crazy. It ruins the springs. Play with the playmobile village and of course tell me how cool everything looks. Then, of course, that night we have to read all the Halloween books which are already upstairs by their beds and waiting. I still have a few odds and ends to finish, but all the big stuff is done. Yeah!!!! Now that scouts is on hold for a little and I am caught up on the important stuff, I have been making a few things. I finished Spencer's Halloween costume last night. Today I worked on these magnets. Below are my everyday fridge magnets. I thought it would be fun to have some for the holidays so I made....... these Halloween magnets. Dallin and Eliza came home from school and saw these for the first time and LOVED them.
I also got the idea that since we were decorating our house, Flush Fin (that's our fishes name. Although I hope he dies soon. I really want a big white gold fish. Sorry just my random thoughts) Ok, so I thought it would be cute, to get orange & black rocks for flush's home.

Another lost (kicked out) tooth

Tonight at dinner we were talking about Dallin's loose tooth. Steve and I were telling him to wiggle it so another tooth didn't grow in all funky. He blew us off. Them tonight while we were getting ready to go on a walk, Eliza and Dailln were dancing around waiting for me to get Spencer ready. I guess Eliza was taking up Dallin's dancing room, so he told he to get out. She didn't leave. So he was going over, to remove her himself. When she leaned back up on the couch and tried to kick him. (I got that part of the story later) All I heard was a scream and then came and saw Dallin's mouth full of blood. He of course was screaming at her that he was never going to forgive her for killing his face. I think there were some other threats. I told him to get a grip. Eliza just kept saying it was an accident, she was just leaning back on the couch, swinging her feet. Dallin kept insisting it wasn't. Finally Eliza yells at Dallin it was an accident, I meant to kick you in the stomach. I just shook my head and shrugged. Even now as I sit here and type this I am thinking, "how do I parent this scenario???" Anyone have a great idea. I did say to Eliza I hope you feel really bad.
Spencer finally figure out how to walk, or stagger around. Steve's team took first place in their softball division. He had to defend my honor AGAIN, at his game. I feel like I have done really well keeping my mouth shut at games lately. (like for years) However, on this particular night the pitcher was running his mouth about things he knew nothing about. So I took it upon myself to tell him from the bleachers. The pitcher then yelled, "I don't need to hear from the B@*&#, in the stands. Well my "Knight, Steve" came out of the dug out so fast. Two of his team mates held him back. I really need to shut my mouth, I am putting Steve in danger. We also took the family to Sedona for the day on Saturday. Sunday was the same old off to church, dinner and a walk with some excitement thrown in there.

Video of Spencer dancing on the way home from Sedona.

Past weekend

This was my project over the weekend and still a work in progress. Finally Spencer is out of our room. I have been putting off going through the play room. I HATE toys in bedrooms. I like clean rooms. Oh well I have to make it work. This window is a huge mess right now. I need a long wood cabinet that I can shut the door on and hide these toys. I do like the pillows on the window seat, just don't know how I feel about the window treatment. The blinds need to go and something else needs to happen. I'm going to have to think about it for a little, BUT we have our room back. YEAH!!!!
The lost baby coon.

By the time Saturday night hit I was ready for a date and a day off. HAHAHA, Friday we had all the boys at our house, Tanner, Brody, Taige, Garet and Dallin. Eliza, had her friend Mckenna over for a while. They just play so sweet and quite. The boys on the other hand, during the day an Airsorft war. Dallin, got shot in the forehead. Then off to football, where he scored his first touchdown. Then back to our house. The boys came back over for night games and raccoon hunting. That's right they baited our backyard for coons. They always come and try to eat Lucy's food, so tonight their plan was to catch one. Didn't happen, big disappointment. They also decided to go run around, without there shirts and wave them in the air. They also stood on the street corner and whirled their shirts around their heads when cars drove by. Don't worry I supervised the whole thing. UUHH, what am I going to do they are 9! And POOR ELIZA she just runs with these lunatics, who knows what is running through her little head. Don't worry she kept her shirt on!!!! As you can see by the pictures above coon hunting was not a total waste, on Sunday night we were in the house and heard this high pitched screaming. I thought it was a bird, but no, it was this baby raccoon calling for it's Mom. I felt so bad for it. I tried to lour it back to the wash, were they live, but he or she didn't understand my good intentions and kept coming after me. The kids were out there with me trying to help it. Finally we just went inside and it cried for it's Mom for a long time. After about 2 hours I sent Steve out to check on it. He was a good sport, and went out with hot pads on his hands, just in case he found the little guy, the hot pads would protect him while he carried it back to safety. Not to sure were safety is, thank goodness he didn't find it otherwise we would have a new pet, Coony. There has been lots of wildlife excitement lately. I don't know if it's mating season or what, but the Elk's are calling. It wakes you up in the middle of the night. It sounds like someone is being murdered. Thank goodness for Monday, I got my house ALL CLEANED up and had a friend come over. I taught her how to decorate cupcakes, which is always fun for me. I then finally got in the shower, and sat down thinking I get to relax when I instantly remembered I had an appointment at 2. I got out of the shower at 1:30 scrambled to get Spencer and myself ready. Also get Dallin's football gear together, because after I picked him up at 3:30 it was straight to practice. I actually, was out of the house at 1:49, and thought I am going to make it, and on time. Then as I was getting on the freeway I hit, construction!!! Finally I got off the freeway, and onto Butler, were I decided to go straight instead of turn, only to run into railroad crossing and sure enough the railroad bars came right down in front of me. I was 10 minutes late to my appointment, waiting for the stupid train to pass. I finally made it home by 6, and got dinner on the table by 6:45. (wait I forgot to tell you, when I got to my appointment, I got the very front spot. My luck was turning.) So dinner 6:45 we were finally sitting down to eat BBQ chicken, when about a minute into dinner Eliza asks, "Does chicken come from pigs???" We all died laughing. AHHHH, finally some slow down, a fun family dinner.
Below is the gang running a muck.

Daddy, Daughter campfire

Steve and Eliza went to the Daddy, Daughter campfire on Friday night. Eliza has been counting down the days for weeks now, seriously so excited to go. They went and had a great time. There are no pictures because, I sent them with no SD card. I sent them with everything else just no card. Kind of bummed, but over it. Eliza and Steve came home with a really cute song that they sang around the camp fire. It sings to the tune of, 3 Blind Mice.
This is my Dad
This is my Dad
He is so Rad
He is so Rad
And I'm so glad that my Dad is rad
And my Dad is rad 'cause I'm not bad
Yes I love my Dad

This is my daughter
This is my Daughter
She likes the water
Cause that's what I taught her
And she likes to giggle and run all day
And she likes to tickle and have her way
And she makes me happy to see her play
Yes I love my daughter

Tonight I tried to get Eliza to sing it with me and she wouldn't. I kept trying and finally she said no, because my Dad's not rad. I asked, "He's not rad?" Steve said, "Eliza what is rad?" Eliza said back to Steve, "Not rad, red. Your not red, dad." I seriously laughed so hard. I had to make sure and kiss her on the head so she knew I wasn't laughing at her. I just thought it was so cute. Her and Steve also came home with a book that Eliza made at his office. Eliza said that she could draw a really good "slug bug." Steve told her to draw a whole page of them, and all different colors. Their plan was to come home and show the book to Dallin. Then when he got to the page they could start punching him saying, "red slug bug, blue one, black one." Tonight that is just what they did. We all got a few punches in. Nice ones that is.
Today we spent all day going through the kids toy room. Spencer finally got moved out of our bedroom and into, now his room, and half playroom. Hopefully this living arrangement works. I just wish they each had their own room, and a play room, AND I had a workout room. That's really all I am asking for. A few other things , but I won't get into them right now. So back to working all day and going through everything. I'm really happy with how it looks, and I got rid of tons of junk which always makes me happy. Tonight Steve and i went on a much needed date and we argued the second half of dinner. so it wasn't what I was hoping for. Hopefully we get it right tomorrow.

Cobra and Curvy

We have had Cobra, Dallin's snake, and Curvy, Eliza's snake for a really long time. Dallin got Cobra when he was 3. Eliza, was also 3, when we got Curvy. Sad to say, but about 2 days ago, they found a new home. I am just going to have to explain this post, in more detail, in about 10 years.

Dallin's Birthday

Finally I can post Dallin's Birthday. For his party he wanted to have a Air Soft War. Dallin and the boys all had a good time. Even Eliza joined in on the war, she's in the white coat on the right. Dallin's airsoft gun cake.
Some of the kids getting ready to war. Left to right: Austin, Blake, Dallin, Blake, Taige, Tanner, and Eliza.
First game, Protect the President. Eliza was the President. It's the only way she would play. They promised to protect her and not let anyone shot her. Funny thing is the other team The Assassin's are all gunning for her. Here they are all surrounding her, keeping her safe.
Dallin is on team assassin's. He is trying to take out his sister.
Eliza spots him and points him out to Brody one of her body guards.
Spencer out on the battle field, he is even wearing his eye protection.
After Protect the President, and Steal the Flag. It was back to our house for cake and ice cream. I made camouflage cupcakes for all the boys and the gun cake for Dallin.
After cake and ice cream we got out the marshmallow bow. The kids took turn trying to shot marshmallow's into each others mouths. Eliza nailed Tanner right in the forehead.

They all wanted to take turns trying to sot it into Dallin's mouth. This is Taige taking a shot at Dallin. Tanner who is right behind dallin, pants him as Taige took his shot. Boys, they are so funny.
For Dallin's actual birthday we went to Scottsdale. Aunt Rachel flew in, the next day she drove home with the kids and Steve and I stayed there for a mini vacation. On the ride home Rach and the kids got stuck in a car accident, stand still traffic for an hour and a half. It was about 112 degrees outside, they had no AC in the car. Need less to say not a fun trip home. Here are the kids at the pool on Dallin's birthday. There was 10 pools, a water slide and a built in beach.

We built a sand castle.
That night we went out to Cheesecake Factory.
Then we went to the Diamondback's baseball game. The D-Back's were losing and Dallin flipped his hat to make it a rally cap. Our whole family got put up on the Mega Tron, the zoomed in on Dallin and he danced away. They didn't even know it was his B-Day. It made his night. Eliza was sad she didn't get to see herslf.

Rachel told the kids to pretend like they like each other before this picture. What a bunch of smarties.
When we got home Spencer need a bath, but they didn't have one. The sink worked.
This video is to much. Dallin is hysterical when he finds out what he got for his birthday. After blogging all this I came to one conclusion. Dallin was spoiled on his birthday. All my kids are spoiled. Never mind not spoiled. Just very VERY LOVED.

Dawson's Dash

This Saturday September the 11th was Dawson's Dash. Dawson's Family lives in our neighborhood. When we moved here 3 years ago he was already battling cancer. He passed away last year. There was a lot people who loved him in this community. Every year there is a race held in his honor. This year I was on the committee to help set up and take down. I was also supposed to be a cross guard during the race, but they had plenty of help. I ended up running in the race with my kids. I caught up with them about a half mile into the race. Here is Eliza, she is a born runner. She pretty much ran the whole thing. She came in second place for her age group. Chase Moore running with his cousin Tillman.
Dallin kind of ran the whole way. I ran with him and pushed him along. He was not happy with me. He was happy when his name was announced for taking 3rd place in his age group.
Spencer hung out with Stacie Moore and cheered us on at the finish line. Spencer with Kaylin Moore who placed 6th place over all.
Dallin with some of his buddies. Thomas, Dallin, who is giving Taige a purple nurple. Taige, who taught Dallin about purple nurple, I bet you he regrets teaching him that, and Kolby.

Dallin's playing Football

So finally, Dallin gets to play football. You have to be in the 3rd grade to play on a flag football team. Dallin has been so excited all summer. He really wants to play tackle, however I have done my homework and there is no need for a growing boy to get hit. Flag teaches them the game and in the mean time they are not learning the wrong techniques from Fathers who want to be coaches. I love Dallin's coach. He is on a team with a lot of his good friends from school and is having the funnest time. After his game we were walking to the car and Dallin said to me, "I really love this game!!!" Spencer at the game. He cracks me up. The whole hour and a half, he through the football up in the air and crawled after it. Dallin with his buddy Thomas.
In position to pull the flag.

Cousin Alexi's Wedding & Seven Peaks

This trip was planned and packed for in about 3 hours. We were supposed to be in Lake Powell this weekend. However there was problems with the boats and we still might have been able to work something out but I really wanted to go to my Cousin Alexis's wedding. So on Wednesday night I decided to bag the trip to Powell and leave Friday morning for Utah to go to the wedding. On Thursday morning when I called my sister Rach to let her know we were coming she told me there was a dinner Friday night. I called my girlfriend Gretchen asked her if the kids could come over while I packed and 3 hours later we were in the car heading to Utah.I'm glad we went it was fun seeing everyone, and a beautiful wedding.
