Chase & Taige Proud to Be An American

We love these 2 boys. Taige is Dallin's very very good friend and we love having him around. Chase is quite possibly the best kid I know. I'm glad Dallin has him as an example. Also I have to say i got choked up at the talent show watching these 2.

Our little princess

Eliza was the princess in her school play. She did such a great job learning all her lines and did a great job!!! Love ya, Liza lou. Here she is kissing the frog, and yes it did turn into her prince.
OK, I LOVE baseball. Just not in Flagstaff. It is so windy here and Spring sucks. You literally need your winter clothes when watching baseball here. However, I love this picture of Dallin playing catcher. He is doing everything right. Love you too, Dallin

And well, I also LOVE this kid. I mean I know I am his Mom, but seriously how can you not love this face. I can't believe he is 9 months. Where did the time go? Oh wait I know!!! We are trying to keep up with D & E!!!

Past week, I think I have a shot at contending, Wait I'm a women!

THE
NEXT SURVIVOR
SERIES

Six married men
will be dropped on an island
with one car

and 3 kids each for six weeks.
Each kid will play two sports
and take either music or dance classes.
Each man must

take care of his 3 kids;
keep his assigned house clean,
correct all homework,
complete science projects,
cook,
do laundry,
and pay a list of 'pretend' bills
with not enough money.
In addition,

each man
will have to budget enough money
for groceries each week.

Each man
must remember the birthdays

of all their friends and relatives,
and send cards out on time--no emailing.
Each man must also take each child
to a doctor's appointment,
a dentist appointment
and a haircut appointment.
He must make one unscheduled and
inconvenient
visit per child to the Emergency Room.
He must also make cookies or cupcakes
for a school function.
Each man will be responsible for
decorating his own assigned house,
planting flowers outside, and keeping it
presentable at all times.
The men will only have access to television

when the kids are asleep and all chores are done.
The men must shave their legs,
wear makeup daily,
adorn themselves with jewelry,
wear uncomfortable yet stylish shoes.
During one of the six weeks,
the men will have to endure severe
abdominal cramps, backaches, headaches,
have extreme, unexplained mood swings

but never once complain or slow down
from other duties.

They must attend weekly school meetings

and church,
and find time at least once to spend
the afternoon at the park or a similar
setting.
They will need to read a book to the kids each night

and in the morning,

feed them,

dress them,
brush their teeth
and
comb their hair

by 7:30 am.
The kids vote them off the island based on performance.
The last man wins only if...
he still
has enough energy
to be intimate with his spouse
at a moment's notice.

I Think I could be a contestant, except I'm a women.

I posted backwards again so you can read it backwards or start at the bottom.

*Saturday, Baseball games all day. And to top the whole week off. Friday Dallin hyper-extended his elbow, Steve pulled his Hamstring and can't walk, and earlier in the week realized that blister on Spencer's bum is not a blister, but ring worm. On *Friday I was at the school by 7:30. Taught sign, then did the animal walk in the back of the school with the kids. Taught sign again. Left the school got the rest of the stuff for the party. Trough Eliza LUAU PARTY. It was a Crazy "14 Girls" Party. Eliza loved it, and that's what I was going for. The party was from 5-7, then Steve had a Softball game at 9:15. Finally to Bed, Yeah.

*Thursday, more baseball. Also the kids love to ride there bikes to school. So I ride with them. It's a pretty tough bike ride. We live in Flagsatff and there is a lot of hills. It's a total of 6 miles for the kids and on this day , I did it twice. Then that night I had the privilege of staying up until 4:00am in the morning. Since it was the last Friday of the year(I teach sign language at D&E's school every Friday) I put together some activities for the kids to do over the summer. I also made them a treat, since they were such great student for me. So at 10:30pm I started making rice crispy treats. At 12:00 I put all the rest of the pages in there sign books. Then stayed up till 4:00am decorating Eliza's birthday cake. Aloha!
*Wednesday, Run all the errands for the party. Then sew a lion costume and off to Dallin's school play. He was the Lion in "The Anaansi and the Moss Covered Rock." A tale from Ghana in Africa. Invites out, Yeah.*Tuesday, we had baseball. That started at 4:30 and went until 7:30. Starting dinner at 7:30 stinks, that's when kids are supposed to be going to bed. Then us Mom's are up until 10:30 cleaning and folding laundry till midnight. Then if we are smart enough to stop working we crawl into bed at midnight. Then back up with your baby at 4:30. It used to be 5 or 5:30. But just lately he has been getting up earlier. I hate it. I kind of feel bad for Spencer sometimes. The poor guy just wants to take a good nap in his bed, but we have to keep up with Dallin and Eliza. So the stroller will have to do. Thank goodness we have Lucy to babysit.

*Monday, I stressed over Eliza's party invitation's. Why I don't know? The whole time I was coming up with a pattern for the tiki hut on the top of the invite, then the whole time I was putting them on, I was asking myself WHY? Just print the invite and pass them out, but nope I just couldn't do it. And to top it all off, Spencer is SO on the MOVE. (I just had to take a time out. I heard the kids in the playroom. Dallin was using Spencer as a target for the new squirt gun he just got!!!??? At least it was with water.) So back to moving I was trying to make invitations and Spencer would not sleep. That day he managed to dump all our crayons, the whole box of pixo's and all the machines you need to make the art. He got into the printer, and emptied the books off my book shelf. I also caught him starting to chew on Lucy's bone. At least it is one of those dental bones so it's good for his teeth. I had to call Steve to come home for lunch so he could watch the little monster. Question for all you Mom's. I have never had a bitter and Spencer is starting to bite when you take something from him. He is only 8 months, is it supposed to start this soon???

Fathers and Son's/Girls night

Fathers and sons is always the best. This year Steve had 2 extra boys in their tent, Taige and Tanner, Dallin's good friend's. They only pictures they took are a series of them making crazy faces and the one below with the knives in the ground is the "Snype Trap." I guess some of the 12 year old boys were attacked by Snype's on the camp out. Chase came bad with a large gash on his leg. Masson was holding on to a tree for dear life while the snype tried to drag him away, and Jeremy got pecked in the bum. This is why there is a Snype trap outside their tent.

Eliza and I got to hang out with each other for the night. I had already signed up to work the concession stand at the ball park, but it was kind of fun to do it together. After that we came home and made cookies, while watching the Sound of Music. We got to have a sleep over in Mom's room which is always fun. The next morning I was up early with the baby so by the time she woke up breakfast was made and table was set. Everything was pink, she loved it. Breakfast was going very well until Lucy had to be taken out to go to the bathroom. I heard other dogs out in the back so I put her on a leash and took her out. There was two, twelve year old boys out walking their Golden Retriever and German Shepard. The German Shepard came right after Lucy (the little boy could not handle his dog) and put 3 holes in her face. Nothing stitches worthy but there was some pretty good puncture wounds and blood. I made a phone call to the boys Mom asking her why that dog is out with someone who can't control it. Luckily Lucy didn't get it that bad.

Hard Choices

We recently had a very hard, and emotional choice to make. We all love Leia a LOT. However she is more than I can handle. I just didn't have the time to train her or give her the attention that she needed. She would run away every chance she got and was way to hyper around all the kids that are constantly at our house. Two days before we left on our trip she ran away again. We looked all over for her but couldn't find her. Then the very day we were leaving for Utah I was told about a sign reading," found black lab." I called and was sure it was our dog. However about 6 other people had called to claim their black lab. I explained Leia in detail to Sharon and Wayne and while they thought most likely our dog, they weren't sure. They said they would keep her until we got back into town. Well to sum this long story up. They feel in love with her while we were gone. They are a great fit for each other and Wayne has all the time in the world to devote to Leia. It was so hard to tell the kids that Leia wasn't coming home. There was a "LOT" of tears. Sharon and Wayne have been so kind and told the kids that they can come over whenever they want to see Leia. What is really great, is, they live across the street.

A week of Vacation

This is my absolute favorite picture from the trip. Love you Liza Lou.

I blogged this one backwards, so sorry. We came home driving through Monument Valley at sunset it was beautiful. On the way home we went through Monticello. We showed the kids where Grandpa went to High school and played football. Where Steve was born, and lucky Steve apparently it is one of the top 100!!! Of WHAT???

We also went by there Temple. I was surprised when Eliza said it looked like the one in Memphis. It's the exact same.

We hiked out to an old Cowboy camp at the Canyonlands. We did the "Needles" side of the park the last day we were in Moab. It was a really fun hike we got to hike by a lot of mushroom rocks, and climb up ladders. We also got to hike under a lot overhangs which was fun.

This natural spring was close to the old cowboy camp. It was really cool to see ,however there was a lot of spiderwebs, which I was not a fan of.

The Old Cowboy Camp

Also on the Needles side of the Canyonlands park, we hike out to the "Pot holes." We hiked all the way out there and were all a little disappointed, that there was no water. So that meant, no tadpoles. We were all a little bummed. Then this big black crow flew in and landed a little ways, a way from us. Of course the kids could not resist running after him, and sure enough the crow had landed to get a drink out of the only full pot hole. Of course the kids were positive the crow was heaven sent. Lucky for us we got to see tadpoles.

The Needles at Canyonlands.

We stopped by Newspaper Rock. They believe that this rock has 2,000 years of human history on it. They think that the Native Americans used to stop by here, while traveling through to document there history.

Spencer while camping. He loved to rub his hands in the dirt. He would just rub back and forth open palm, pushing the sand all around. I'm sure he ate his fair share.

The boys at the camp fire. Dallin and Eliza used there pocket knives to cut down all of our kindling. They also used it to widdle their campfire sticks. Those "camp fire sticks" just make me nervous. I'm surprised no one got burned.
Dallin and Eliza at the Canyonlands, on the "Island in the Sky" side of the park. Eliza got a book that tells you what animals live in the Canyonlands. So pretty much every hike we spent looking up animals. Lots of fun!!!
Steve and the kids at the, "Island in the Sky."
Spencer and I in Moab. This is at the Power Damn, it's one of my favorite hikes. I love to hike through the water. Spencer and I hung out while the kids and Steve hiked up on top of the water hole. Spencer was really tiered.
The water was a little high so Steve carried the kids across the river. On the way back the kids where already soaked, so we just held onto them and all wadded across.
We did this hike in the morning before the Power Damn. It was up on the slick rock flats. Up by the Lions back. We hiked out to a cave. The kids love to "imagine" when we hike. I started it so they would like to hike, so here is the story for this hike. Once we crossed the sand river. That is where people are turned into sand if they touch any part of the river, and you better watch out for the lizards. They try and make you chase them into the river, so you will turn to sand forever. Luckily we all made it. Once across the river, you enter into the cave. We had already gathered our sand on the other side of the river, you need the sand to put on the post(as seen below) for the cave to open up into the new world.
Here we are right before we dropped off into the sand river and then up into the cave. You enter into the new world in the left corner. Just in case you want to go.
We found a great campsite. While it was a little cold and windy it was a beautiful site to wake up to every morning. About 100 feet from the tent was the Colorado River.Which the kids loved to walk to and throw rocks. Not to sure why that is so fun, but it is.
Like I said it was a little windy so one night we cleared out the pilot and all slept in the back which would have been just fine but at 2 in the morning Steve went to turn the car on, so we could turn on the heat and it set the car alarm off. We could not turn it off. I kept blaming it on him, saying he hit the panic button. He insisted he didn't. Well at 5:30 he proved me wrong. He went to turn the car on again and set the alarm off again. I was so embarrassed. I'm sure all the other people camping just loved us. Well he set it off one more time and this time we just drove out of camp so we could figure out what was going on with our new car. So for those of you with a new pilot, don't try and unlock your car from the inside 'manually" after the alarm has been turned on. FYI!!!
We stayed at my parents while we where going to the wedding and the baby shower. I found my Mom's old typewriter and pulled it out for the kids. Dallin and Eliza loved it. Dallin said, "I have only seen one of these in a museum." I thought that was pretty funny and it made me feel really old. They played forever, on this old thing.
Family Prayers
These are my new high heels. I think they are like art and I love them. I got them for the wedding. I tried to wear them to Dallin's and Eliza's baseball games the other day, but Steve said it was not really baseball attire. Thanks Aly for modeling them for me. Love ya.
We had a 16th Birthday party for Matt and my cousin Jack, his wife Rachel, and their baby Jack came. Spencer and Jack are about 2 weeks apart. Spencer kept reaching over and grabbing Jack Jr.'s hair and making him cry. "Bully"
Spencer's very first crawl. He decided that learning to crawl the day before we went camping would be best. And so be it.
Amy Baby shower. It was so fun to do this for her. Everything turned out great and so many people showed up. We can't wait to meet Baby Kratos. Her friend BreAnna made these water bottles which where so cute.
Eliza with Danyella at Mel's wedding reception. Eliza loves Danyella.
Spencer was not happy about being there. he was so sick but we drug him along so we could show him off. He is such a trooper. He really didn't have a choice, poor guy. But, I love this picture, Spencer is crying because we put him down, Syd has no idea what is going on, Eliza is trying to console Spencer, and Dallin is acting like a spaz. Yeah, that sound about right.
Eliza and Sydney looked so cute in there matching dresses.

Mel and Sam cutting the cake.
The family went out for a ride while we where loading up the car before the big trip. We got into Utah around 5 in the morning the day of the wedding. We had to be up to the temple at 9. However, Spencer litterally screamed the entire 8 hour trip, I don't know if it was ear infections or hand foot and mouth again. All I know is it was miserable for him, and me, and the rest of the family. I'm just glad it's over and I finally got to go to sleep that next night. well, at least longer than 30 minutes at a time. That was my 3rd night of no sleep and my eyes where so blood shot and sore at the wedding. I'm just glad he was better by the time we went tent camping.

My motorcycle gang.
